The following method to extract multimedia files from the cache works great on many sites and can be used as a fast and efficient way of downloading files that are of interest. I suggest Firefox for this operation but other browsers should work as well.
Visit the website in question and start the playback of the multimedia file that you want to download. Let it play until it finishes and type “about:cache?device=disk” into the address bar of Firefox. What we are looking for is a relatively large file that probably has the standard extension. If you are looking for a music file try searching that page for “mp3″ or other extensions that could work. (Look for sizes of 1 megabyte and up for music files for instance)
Once you have found the file navigate locally to the path that is given in Firefox and move it out of the cache to another place on your hard drive. You could rename the file because they are usually made up of seemingly random chars.
It is sometimes important to rename the extension to .mp3, .wma or something similar so that the file can be played.
