Mastering Guitar is not something difficult to do. You too can learn to play lead guitar, however there are some things that you need to know and some traits you need to possess, tohelp you get better, faster.

These are the things you need to know.

Learn Your Scales.

So you might already be familiar with many ofthe basic chords and can play progressions with ease. But you might have a problem withyour solos, because when it comes to those lead guitar solos, you find yourself in a dead end and unable to find the right notes to pick.

What you need to do is improve your mastery of guitar scales, be able to visualize the fretboard and see the different scales for the different chords, and be able to crank out guitar solos on the fly and easily improvise.

The bestadvise that I found which I would like to share with you is this… the first step to playing lead guitar is to first master the major scale. While others recommend learning the pentatonic scales probably because of thefewer notes to take note of, it is best to master and familiarize yourself with the seven notes that make up a major scale, and be able to apply them at different parts of the guitar neck for various chords.

So for you to get better at lead guitar playing, you need to master scales, you need to know how to read guitar tablature, and you need to be able to learn the right way and get good guitar lessons.

All of that will actually not mean anything if you do not have one important personal trait which will decide whether you will get to be a better player or not, and that trait is discipline.

By discipline, I mean your being able to start and keep to a learning and practice routine that you will be sure to follow. You will not get better if you only practice when you feel like it, and when you start getting lazy or when your fingers start to hurt you easily quit. You need to keep on practicing and playing the guitar to get better, even in times of frustration when you can’t seem to get a lick, a riff or a guitar solo right. The truth is, many of the guitar virtuosos spend countless hours practicing. They never got to be that good by telling themselves, “I don’t feel like practicing today, I’ll do it tomorrow”. Drum N’ Bass is a rockin’ the clubs!

Drum and Bass is an urban musical style that was originated both from hardcore techno, raves and jungle.

It was born in the 90’s in London, United Kingdom and even today it is in the UK that drum and bass is more active and vibrant with an underground dnb scene that is very intense and popular .

The main feature of Drum and Bass is the heavy and powerful basslines and the really fast rhythms and beats. A beat can sometimes go up to 220 BPM, but are usually at 170BPM.

Obviously these are incredible forward tempos if we compare them to house or electro music which is usually around 133 BPM .

This is of course the type of music one enjoys listening to in clubs, raves, parties and festivals.

It is associated with some drugs (ass all dance music genres are…) mainly because of the parties and the frenetic beats.

The drum n’ bass genre has merged itself over the years with many other musical styles like reggae, electro, dancehall, pop, house, jazz, hip hop and dub…

Sub-genres and variations of Drum and bass include: techstep, drumfunk, neurofunl, liquid funk, drill n’ bass, breakcore, jazzy, hardstep and dubcore.

If you go to a Drum n’ Bass live-act what you’ll probably see os a dj playing the track and changing it (making a rhythm more powerful and faster, repeating parts of the music, scratching, etc) and an MC (Master of Ceremonies) that performs over the music in his own style.

Most Drum n’ Bass mcs perform in the ragga and hip hop style. Lately the most commercial hip hop has had the voice of women with catchy lyrics, but this is more chart-oriented and mainstream drum n’ bass.

It’s very likely that you go into a club and it’s playing a drum n’ bass track or with dn’b inspiration.

If you want adventure yourself in the world of Drum n’ bass production you got to be total master of your gear (hardware and/or software).

You have to know how to make the most powerful beats and beable to perform them live.

The history of hip hop goes back to the decade of 60’s where racial problems, social inequities and street violence were a very harsh reality of urban life amongst the economically disfavoured communities.

The word hip hop is used to describe a music style but it is actually much more than that. Hip hop is a cultural movement of its own. It’s composed of three main artistic manifestations which are: graffiti (the visual part), rap (the music part), breakdancing (the body part) and djing (scratching and turntablism).

Hip hop music has always been created with the values of the cultural movement, the themes of the streets. Whether it was violence, drugs, guns, prostitutes, money, etc..

Most of people tell that rap or hip hop music came out of the street poetry of bands like The Last Poets or The Whats Prophets but it was the release of Sugarhill Gang’s album Rapper’s Delight in 1979 that really meant the birth of the rap genre.

Hip Hop was born in NYC but it soon spread throughout the whole United States.

There are a lot of different variation and sub-genres of hip hop. Each one comes from its place of origin (city, neighbourhood or state). This also means that different sub-genres of hip hop also have slightly different lyric themes. There has been a long history of rivalry between hip hop scenes like the famous westcoast vs eastcoast war throughout the 90’s, which culminated with artists like 2Pac being murdered.

The music world opened its years to rap and hip hop when LL Cool J released in 1985. Hip Hop literally burst and influenced later all other music genres.

Some of the most popular artists and bands (past and present) include: The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Run DMC, Public Image Ltd, Eminem, Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Wu Tang Clan, TLC, Notorious B.I.G and many others…

Making hip hop tracks is for sure one of the hottest jobs in the music industry. It can literally transport you into richness and celeb status.

R&b: The Past And The Present

R&B is a musical genre that evolved out of jump blues in the 1940’s. R&B maintained the upbeat and the tempo characteristics of jump blues but the song itself became more meaningful and there was less room for improvisation.

In the 1950’s R&B was already a very popular style and both vocalists alone and vocal groups dominated the top of the charts with names like: Ray Charles, Ruth Brown, The Drifters and The Coasters. Of course, over the years there was a shift in style and R&B became more soul which was much funkier and loser.

Soul was a very diverse genre, there were numerous possibilities that one could see by the emergence of sub-genres like Motown and Stax.

However, after many profound changes in the world of music, what we have today is called R&B but it has nothing to do with its roots.

Nowadays, R&B might be the most complex music genre there is, due to the fusion it often makes with several other styles.

R&B and Soul music were always tightly connected but the 70’s brought the rise of Urban music. Urban music is a term used to describe all types of musical movements that have a social or street origin. It could be drum n’ bass, hip hop, rap, rave, ect…

The purpose of R&B, was always to do upbeat songs, where the word SONG has the most importance. Today the sky is the limit when it comes for inspiration from R&B artists.

Hip hop and R&B are very tightly connected….in a way that many hip hop artists release albums that have a great R&B inspiration, and this gets them close to the chart tops.

It can also be inspired by electronic music, and we can see that clearly when artists and producers recycle oldschool tunes or use the latest cool sounds and effects.

Of course, one thing hasn’t changed and that is the power of the singer in an R&B song. Artists like Mariah Carey, Beyonce, Rihanna, etc..have great voices and will capture audiences for many many years.

I’d say every music genre has its ups and downs, but it sure is interesting to see how R&B will evolve in the 21st century, where every musical genre seems to have been invented and the common word that connects all styles is: repeat!

Making R&B songs can be easy if you have a great voice. You can get yourself a cheap producer and build a demo in no time.

But what you want to do is a powerful demo that shows you know about music, have style and a great sense of what’s hot.

To do that you gotta have the right r&b samples.

Build your own demos and make the next big hit with Future Loops’ r&b beats
Check out how you can make groovy powerful track with the right r&b loops.
